I've been very lucky to see a great
number of my books published into other countries.
How do foreign sales happen?
The wonderful foreign sales department at HarperCollins arranges
for the sales to various countries. The books often come out a year
to two years after the sale.
Do you have any say in which
countries you place in?
Nope! I just enjoy the fun.
Are the covers/titles the same?
No. The covers are then redone by the foreign publisher who buys
the rights to reprint. They often give a new title to the book. See
the name under the cover on the left to see the new titles for the
books.
Have you ever visited the
countries your books are published in?
Mostly no, but I have been to Brazil. I hope to be able to visit
more of the countries where my books have been out.
Where are your books going to be
available in the future?
My books have sold in Russian, Arabic, French, Spanish, Dutch
and Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese and Thai so far.
Do you get copies of the books?
Sometimes. I've received Norwegian, French and Japanese copies.
